Sharjah24: Sharjah is set to host the second edition of the Sharjah Pearls Exhibition from 28 January to 1 February, as part of the seventh Jewels of Emirates Show at Expo Centre Sharjah. Organised in cooperation with the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), the exhibition aims to advance the gemstones and jewellery sector and reinforce Sharjah’s position as a regional and international hub for the industry.

Organised by Suwaidi Pearls, the exhibition offers a dedicated platform to showcase rare natural pearls and gemstones, highlighting their historical, cultural and commercial significance as a cornerstone of the UAE’s maritime heritage. The programme features heritage-themed activities, premium pearl displays, and traditional Emirati jewellery reinterpreted through contemporary design.

Interactive heritage experiences

Visitors will experience pearl-crafting workshops using traditional tools, a heritage-style Majlis that recreates historic pearl-trading practices, and cultural evenings featuring pearl divers, traders and gemstone experts. Storytelling sessions will recount the history of pearl diving, complemented by entertainment competitions designed to enhance community engagement.

Industry leaders underline cultural value

His Excellency Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI, emphasised the exhibition’s role in preserving the UAE’s deep-rooted connection to the sea and in empowering Emirati designers and entrepreneurs. Abdulla Rashed Al Suwaidi, Founder of Suwaidi Pearls, highlighted the exhibition’s aim to bridge heritage and modernity. The event is held in strategic partnership with the Gemological Institute of America (GIA).
