The seminar was attended by Colonel Tareq Abdullah Al Ahbesh, Head of Dibba Al Hisn Comprehensive Police Station; Fatima Al Teneiji, Member of the Sharjah Youth Council; Ahmed Abdullah Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Parents’ Council in Dibba Al Hisn; and a number of festival visitors.
The session targeted youth and parents, addressing three main themes: protecting families from cyber fraud, the role of youth in strengthening family cohesion, and the importance of parents in reinforcing positive thinking and behaviour within the family.
Practical guidance on cybercrime prevention
Speakers highlighted the most common and emerging cyber fraud methods, providing practical guidance and preventive measures to raise community awareness and protect individuals and families from falling victim to online scams. The seminar also emphasised preventive security as a shared social responsibility.
Strengthening community partnerships
Colonel Al Ahbesh stressed Sharjah Police’s commitment to expanding awareness programmes and strengthening community partnerships, noting their vital role in enhancing security awareness, promoting prevention, and supporting social stability and quality of life.
Participants praised Sharjah Police’s efforts and called for the continuation of such initiatives, which contribute to community safety and reinforce shared responsibility.
