Sharjah 24: Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, attended the graduation ceremony of the 24th batch of officer cadets at Sharjah Police Academy.

The event, held on Saturday evening at the academy’s headquarters in University City, also celebrated university graduates completing the qualifying course for the rank of lieutenant.

Upon his arrival, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem was welcomed by His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah; Sheikh Dr Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Ruler's Office; senior officials; police commanders; members of the academy’s Board of Trustees; and directors of military and police academies and colleges.

The ceremony commenced with the rendition of the United Arab Emirates national anthem, followed by a recitation from the holy Quran. Brigadier Dr Mohammed Khamis Al-Othmani, Director of the Sharjah Police Academy, delivered a speech highlighting that the graduation marks a continuation of the nation’s journey—a nation that has made security a pillar of stability and knowledge a path to progress. He noted that the graduating classes add to the Academy’s distinguished legacy and contribute to the advancement of a nation firmly grounded in security and prosperity.

Brigadier Dr Al-Othmani highlighted that the UAE’s security and stability under the leadership of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, are the results of a visionary and well-established leadership. He emphasised that this vision is reflected in the exceptional performance of the nation’s security and military institutions, demonstrating strong national commitment and showcasing the UAE’s prominence. He also expressed profound gratitude to His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah for his generous patronage and unwavering support of the academy’s development. Brigadier Al-Othmani noted that His Highness’s guidance serves as a cornerstone in preparing officer cadets, instilling valuable knowledge, adherence to sound religious principles, pride in national identity, and the ethical standards that define a model security officer.

The Director of the Sharjah Police Academy expressed his sincere gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Academy’s Board, for his steadfast support and ongoing interest in the Academy’s development, programmes, and initiatives. He highlighted His Highness’s careful attention to all matters that enhance police education and training. The Director emphasised that, under the wise guidance and continuous backing of the leadership, the Academy has grown into a distinguished scientific and security institution, blending traditional values with modern knowledge, and producing graduates who have demonstrated exceptional competence in their fields.

Brigadier Al-Othmani emphasised that the Academy remains committed to advancing its educational and training programmes through the integration of cutting-edge technologies, including artificial intelligence and virtual training environments. These innovations enhance the preparedness of security personnel to meet future challenges and reflect the leadership’s vision of cultivating officers who are both scientifically knowledgeable and practically skilled, capable of serving their nation with efficiency and competence. Addressing the graduates, he underscored that the honour of their profession rests on justice, integrity, and community service, and that their responsibilities demand unwavering dedication and commitment.

Following this, His Highness the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and the attendees viewed a presentation highlighting the Academy’s pioneering role in training military personnel. The presentation also paid tribute to the nation’s loyal spirit, its visionary leadership, and the unwavering readiness to sacrifice for the homeland.

His Highness then observed a remarkable military parade, where the officer cadets showcased impeccable discipline and flawless execution. The display highlighted their high level of preparedness and unwavering dedication, translating their academic knowledge and training into a practical demonstration of their capabilities.

His Highness the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah then presented the top-performing graduates with the prestigious Sword of Honour and the title of Parade Commander.

Following the ceremony, the flag was ceremoniously handed over from the 24th to the 25th graduating class, symbolising the continuity of duty and the passing of responsibility. The new graduates then took their oath, officially embarking on their professional journey in service to the nation.

At the close of the ceremony, His Highness the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah joined the graduates for a group photograph, commemorating their dedication, perseverance, and years of hard work.

After the official ceremony, Major General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police and Vice Chairman of the Academy Board, personally handed out the graduates’ certificates, extending his best wishes for success as they embark on their careers serving the United Arab Emirates, its leadership, and its people.

The 24th graduating class of Bachelor of Officer Cadets consisted of 44 students who successfully completed a rigorous four-year programme. The curriculum integrated police and legal sciences with practical field training, providing a modern educational experience that balances theoretical knowledge with hands-on application.

Additionally, 12 graduates successfully completed the university graduates’ qualifying course for the rank of lieutenant. The programme, spanning two intensive semesters, focused on strengthening legal knowledge, honing policing skills, and cultivating leadership abilities, in alignment with the demands of contemporary security work.
