Sharjah 24: Sharjah Police (SP) took part in the Military Police Anti-Drugs and Cybercrime Exhibition 2026 through its Anti-Drug Prevention and Control Directorate and the Criminal Investigation and Inquiry Directorate. The exhibition, organised by the Military Police Command at the Ministry of Defence, runs from January 27th to February 4th and brings together a number of security and military bodies to strengthen national efforts to prevent drug abuse and combat cybercrime.

Sharjah Police’s participation comes through a dedicated pavilion, which highlights key preventive initiatives and awareness programs aimed at educating the public about the dangers of drugs and introducing them to emerging forms of cybercrime linked to the rapid development of digital technologies. The pavilion also sheds light on major security challenges associated with drugs and cybercrime through workshops and outreach activities.

Brigadier General Majid Al Asam, Director of the Anti-Drug Prevention and Control Directorate at Sharjah Police, said the force’s participation for the second consecutive year reflects its commitment to reinforcing integrated partnerships with policing bodies. He noted that such cooperation plays a vital role in raising community awareness and supporting a safe and stable society.

Colonel Dr Khalifa Balhaj, Director of the Criminal Investigation and Inquiry Directorate at Sharjah Police, said the exhibition provides an effective platform to showcase the latest practices and technologies in cybercrime and cybersecurity. He added that this contributes to enhancing digital awareness and has a positive impact on strengthening digital security across the community.
