Brigadier General Majid Sultan Al Assam, Director of the Anti-Narcotics Prevention and Control Department, confirmed that investigations revealed the suspect had turned his residence into a makeshift facility for filling e-cigarettes and packaging them with narcotic substances for the purpose of distribution. Upon raiding the location, a number of e-cigarettes manually filled with drugs were seized, along with tools and equipment used in the filling and packaging process.
Brigadier General Al Assam highlighted the continued efforts of security agencies in combating the drug threat, noting that such cases are handled through precise operational plans based on surveillance, monitoring, and coordination. These efforts aim to ensure the arrest of traffickers and protect society. He stressed that drugs pose a direct threat to the safety and security of young people, and that security authorities will not hesitate to pursue anyone proven to be involved in importing or distributing these substances.
The SP has renewed its call to members of the public, especially parents, to pay close attention to their children’s behaviour and maintain regular supervision. It also encourages open family dialogue, given its vital role in protecting young people from falling into the grip of this dangerous scourge.
