The camp, part of the preparations for the Fujairah International Championship and the Arab Taekwondo Cup, will continue until the 31st of this month at the Taekwondo Training Hall in Samnan.
The camp aims to enhance the players’ technical and physical readiness and facilitate the exchange of expertise between different taekwondo schools. The intensive training programme includes technical and tactical sessions, along with practice matches designed to improve performance ahead of upcoming competitions.
Eleven countries are participating in the camp: Kazakhstan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia, France, Belgium, Tunisia, India, Qatar, Egypt, and the UAE. This reflects the prominent position Sharjah Club’s camp has gained as a preferred destination for international training camps in individual sports, especially taekwondo.
Engineer Suleiman Abdulrahman Al Hajri, a member of the Sharjah Sports Club’s Board of Directors and Head of Individual Sports, described the camp as an important preparatory stage for all participants. He noted that the timing of the camp, ahead of the Fujairah International Championship and the Arab Cup, is ideal for preparing the club’s champions who will represent the national team.
Al Hajri emphasised the club’s commitment to providing the best training environment for athletes, especially with major upcoming events. He highlighted that the participation of 130 athletes from 11 countries reflects the camp’s success and the confidence of federations and national teams in Sharjah’s organisational and technical capabilities.
Al Hajri expressed hope that the camp will contribute to raising performance levels and achieving honorable results in upcoming championships. He also thanked the Sharjah Sports Council for its continuous support in developing the sports system in the Emirate.
