Sharjah24: Liverpool secured qualification for the UEFA Champions League round of 16 with a commanding 6-0 victory over Azerbaijan’s Qarabag in the eighth and final round of the unified group stage.

Alexis Mac Allister led the scoring with two goals, netting in the 15th and 61st minutes, while Florian Wirtz added a goal in the 21st minute. Mohamed Salah extended Liverpool’s lead in the second half with a well-taken free-kick in the 50th minute, before Hugo Ekitike (57) and substitute Federico Chiesa (90) completed the emphatic win.

Early dominance and second-half surge

Liverpool asserted control early, settling the contest within the opening 21 minutes. The English side maintained their attacking intensity after the break, scoring four more goals to underline their superiority and attacking depth.

Group standings and next challenge

With the win, Liverpool finished the group stage on 18 points, placing third behind Arsenal, who topped the group with a perfect 24 points, and Bayern Munich, who finished on 21 points.
