Sharjah 24 – Reuters: Enzo Fernández’s free-kick earned Chelsea a 1-1 draw against Liverpool at Anfield, ending their six-match Premier League losing streak and giving caretaker manager Calum MacFarlane his first point in charge.

Gravenberch opener cancelled out before half-time

Liverpool took the lead through a superb curling effort from Ryan Gravenberch, but Chelsea responded before the break when Fernández’s set-piece found its way into the net to level the score.

Both sides frustrated as chances go begging

The match saw several disallowed goals for offside, while Dominik Szoboszlai and Virgil van Dijk both hit the woodwork as Liverpool pushed for a winner. Chelsea also had a goal ruled out early in the second half.

Liverpool remain in top-four race despite draw

Liverpool sit fourth on 59 points and remain on course for Champions League qualification, while Chelsea are ninth on 49 points after a resilient display that ended their poor run of form.
