Issue 342 of Al Rafid monitors major cultural projects in Sharjah

The issue celebrates His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, signing the first phase of the Comprehensive Arabic Encyclopedia of Science, Literature, Arts and Notable Figures. The landmark project, involving 700 scholars, will be available online and completed over four phases, exceeding 500 volumes. The magazine also highlights His Highness’s meeting with the founders of the Arabic Language Academy in Beirut, his continued support for cooperation among Arabic language institutions, and his encouragement of young talent during his meeting with the UAE Writers and Authors Union.

A decade of poetic contribution

Extensive coverage is devoted to poetry and language events, including reports on Houses of Poetry across the Arab world, marking ten years since their establishment, the 22nd Sharjah Arabic Poetry Festival, the 10th anniversary of the Kairouan Arabic Poetry Festival, and the 24th Sharjah Cultural Honouring Forum in Tunisia.
