Sharjah24: As part of the 20th Sharjah Nabati Poetry Festival, a vibrant poetry evening was held at the Sharjah Cultural Palace on Thursday, attended by Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Owais, Chairman of the Department of Culture; Mohamed Ibrahim Al Qaseer, Director of Cultural Affairs; Buti Al Mazloom, Director of the Al Heera Literary Council; and numerous Nabati poetry enthusiasts and cultural figures. The evening showcased a variety of poems, ranging from emotional expressions to patriotic verses, taking the audience on a journey through heartfelt sentiments and delicate revelations. The participating poets included Kulthum Abdullah from the UAE, Mansour Al Ruwailey, Saudi poet “Ghalak,” Abdullah Al Rashidi from Oman, and Fada Al Heil from Qatar, with the evening hosted by journalist Yasser Al Niadi.

Poetic Highlights

 

Kulthum Abdullah, a prominent Nabati voice, captivated the audience with her remarkable ability to blend classical Nabati vocabulary with modern expressions, bridging traditional and contemporary poetic forms. Her poems explored diverse themes with a feminine touch, enriching her works with vivid imagery and a strong descriptive quality. Mansour Al Ruwailey presented emotionally charged poems characterised by sincerity and a lyrical flow that resonated deeply with listeners. Saudi poet “Ghalak” contributed reflective and intimate poetry, skillfully expressing personal experiences and delicate emotions. Abdullah Al Rashidi impressed with his authentic poetic diction, combining classical Nabati elements with modern sensibilities, while Fada Al Heil, known as “The Bird of Longing,” offered universal and emotionally resonant verses, demonstrating her ability to evoke profound feelings through her heartfelt expression.

 

Closing and Recognition

 

The evening concluded with Abdullah Al Owais, Mohamed Al Qaseer, and Bati Al Mazloom honouring all participating poets in recognition of their contributions to the rich Nabati poetry tradition and cultural dialogue.
