The taekwondo tournament is held under an international G1 classification, with recognised ranking points that enhance the event's competitive significance. Opening-day contests were held across four weight categories (-49kg, -57kg, -67kg, and +73kg), resulting in close outcomes.
In the under-49kg category, Fatima Sadiq Kalawadh of Bahrain’s Al Badiya Women’s Club finished first, followed by Sadeen Hamza of Jordan’s Prince Rashid Centre in second place. Stero Mohammed Rashid Mohammed Saleh of Iraq’s Ghaz Al Shamal Club and Hessa Rashid Al Ketbi of Fujairah Martial Arts Club shared third place.
The under-57kg division was led by Fadia Mazin Khirfan of Prince Rashid Centre, who secured first place, with Hanan Yusuf Alsherooqi of Al Badiya Women’s Club finishing second. Third place was shared by Arzu Heni of Ghaz Al Shamal Club and Fatima Mousa Nasir of Sharjah Women’s Club.
In the under-67kg category, Razan Mohammed Alrawashdeh of Prince Rashid Centre finished first, while Asayel Rashid Alketbi of Fujairah Martial Arts Club placed second. Maisam Star Jabbar of Ghaz Al Shamal Club and Sara Mahmoud Jallab of Al Badiya Women’s Club finished joint third.
The +73kg category was topped by Rama Ayman Abo-Alrub of Prince Rashid Centre, with Hajiba Ahmed Harakat of Morocco’s Wydad Sports Club in second place. Fatima Turki Al Jammaz of Kuwaiti Al Fatat Sports Club and Nour Nassar Mohammed of Qatar Club shared third position.
The championship continues with bouts in the -46kg, -53kg, -62kg and -73kg weight categories.
