The “Zakki” campaign stems from a firm conviction that Zakat is not just given, but brings about a profound transformation in the lives of beneficiaries, as the institution works to direct Zakat funds within a well-thought-out institutional system based on impact, taking into account privacy and preserving human dignity. Giving translates into real empowerment opportunities that foster independence and self-reliance, and build pathways to achieving a sustainable humanitarian impact.
Mona bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation, said: "The 'Zakki' campaign embodies the institution's approach to managing Zakat as a social responsibility based on trust and transparency, For over 23 years, we have been committed to investing Zakat funds in well-planned programmes that make a tangible difference in the lives of more than 2,700 fatherless children in over 1,200 families, providing them with the foundations for stability and empowerment, moving beyond temporary solutions.
She added: We believe that intelligence in giving begins with directing it well, and therefore “Zakki” was designed to be an extended giving system that combines institutional expertise, sustainable planning, and human impact. This ensures that Zakat becomes a genuine force for change, contributing to a more secure and stable future for its beneficiaries.
She added: The “Zakki” campaign includes a range of diverse Ramadan projects, including the (Zakat Al-Mal) project, which is directed towards funding flexible and sustainable projects, programmes and initiatives that enhance the dignity of families and build their independence, and the (Iftar) project, which brings together children and their families around warm Ramadan tables that make them feel content and contribute to their family gathering, in addition to the (Ramadan food basket) that meets the basic needs of families, ensuring them a more peaceful month, and the (Ramadan Empowerment Nights) initiative, which offers families a unique Ramadan social experience, adding a touch of renewal and shared enjoyment to their evenings.
In conclusion, Al Suwaidi extended an open invitation to members of the community to choose a smart direction for their good deeds so that they can be partners in creating a lasting impact, stressing that participating in the “Zakki” campaign does not only mean performing a religious duty, but also contributing to building a future that deserves to be given to orphans and their families. The value of giving is measured by the depth and continuity of its impact on the lives of the organization's members.
The Zakat Ramadan campaign is not just a fleeting Ramadan initiative, but a comprehensive vision of conscious giving. It translates Zakat into a lasting impact that touches the lives of orphaned children and their families, strengthens their stability, and makes every contribution a genuine step towards sustainable empowerment and a more secure future for them.
