Sharjah 24: On April 13, the Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation (SSEF) commemorates the anniversary of the Emiri decree establishing it in 2002, a milestone that embodies the launch of an institutional journey that has spanned more than two decades, during which it has dedicated its efforts to building an integrated development model based on empowering orphans and their families to face challenges and confidently shape their future.

On this occasion, Her Excellency Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, affirmed: “This anniversary represents an important milestone to recall a journey full of achievements. She pointed out that the Foundation was launched in accordance with the Emiri Decree issued by His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, may God protect him, in 2002, signaling the beginning of a qualitative journey that has focused since its establishment on empowering children and enhancing the quality of their lives. During this time, the organisation developed a comprehensive system of programs focused on the development of its members, empowering them to move towards greater independence and self-reliance.

Mona Bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation, stated: "For 24 years, the Foundation has worked on developing an institutional model based on a deep understanding of the needs of our children and their families, through a methodology of research and social studies. This enabled them to design innovative initiatives that respond to life's changes and contribute to improving their quality of life in various aspects.

She also stated: "The institutional experience has contributed to reshaping the public perception of children through media discourse that highlights their abilities and potential, and reinforces their presence as active members capable of achievement and contribution to society, within a humanistic vision that preserves dignity and supports ambition."

Ben Hadda also explained: “The foundation adopts an integrated approach to empowerment that includes educational, psychological, social, economic, health, environmental and professional aspects, through interconnected programs aimed at building a balanced personality and developing skills, and to prepare children to confidently integrate into different paths of life.”

She also noted: “This approach has contributed to a tangible transformation in the lives of the members, as the organisation, since its establishment in 2002, has been able to empower more than 2,000 members by providing real opportunities for growth and development. This reflects its commitment to preparing generations capable of self-reliance and contributing to the development of their society.”

She concluded by stating that the foundation is continuing its mission, drawing on its experience and humanitarian vision, to achieve a sustainable impact that meets future aspirations and enhances the status of children in all aspects of life.
