Enhancing the quality of life of orphans and their families through an integrated system of programs and initiatives that benefited 1,201 families comprising 2,702 orphans, including 102 orphans who lost both parents, while the foundation was able to empower 188 children during the past year. The total number of children reached by the end of the year was 2,223, a practical embodiment of its approach based on human development and fostering independence.
Her Excellency Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, stated: "What was achieved during 2025 represents a milestone in the developmental institution's journey, and embodies the maturity of the institutional experience in moving from the concept of immediate care to sustainable empowerment based on building the human being and enhancing his capabilities in the long term." This reflects the organisation's commitment to its humanitarian mission and development vision.
Her Excellency added: “The Foundation is committed to establishing a comprehensive empowerment model based on sustainability and community partnership, inspired by the support and patronage of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, ensuring a more stable and empowering future for children and their families.”
She explained that the achieved figures, initiatives and programs were not aimed at quantity, but rather at maximising the real human impact on the lives of fatherless people and their families, through an integrated system that takes into account the educational, psychological, social, health and professional aspects. It places the orphan at the heart of the development process as a partner in shaping their future.
For her part, Mona bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Foundation, confirmed: "The achievements of 2025 are the result of systematic institutional work based on strategic planning, governance and integration between the sectors of the institution, under the generous support and patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of the Emirate of Sharjah, may God protect him." He launched the "Neighbors of the Prophet" endowment project, and took the initiative to undertake the construction of the first endowment building for the project, and granted the institution its new headquarters, to form a pivotal point in the journey of institutional development and the promotion of a stimulating and integrated work environment that contributes to the creation of more efficient programs. This enhances the quality of services provided to orphaned children and their families.
Al Suwaidi pointed out that this momentum of achievements reflects the efforts of a team that believes in the mission of empowerment, and effective partnerships that have all contributed to expanding the scope of services, raising competencies, and ensuring that support reaches those who deserve it according to precise standards, in a way that promotes social justice. It strengthens public trust in the institutional work system.
She added: “Focusing on various empowerment pathways was not an option, but a necessity to build children capable of self-reliance and active participation in community development,” stressing that investing in people is the most sustainable and impactful investment. The organisation is confidently moving towards the next stage by developing empowerment programs and work mechanisms, thus consolidating its position as a leading entity in empowering orphans. This aligns with the Emirate of Sharjah's vision of humanitarian leadership and its strategic vision of achieving a sustainable social impact that extends for years to come.
The year 2025 witnessed the launch of the "Neighbors of the Prophet" endowment as a developmental endowment project consisting of the establishment of a series of endowment real estate facilities, whose proceeds are entirely dedicated to supporting and empowering orphans and meeting their needs. In addition to achieving financial sustainability for various empowerment programs and funding humanitarian projects that provide them with a decent and stable life, the project has received widespread acclaim and positive interaction from individuals and institutions in the community, reflecting a deep awareness of the importance of endowments. Expanding the community partnership base supports the sustainability of development projects and maximises their impact. The project also recorded the implementation of 833 endowment contributions, 33 awareness tours, and the issuance of 1,711 endowment deeds, reflecting the community's engagement with the culture of endowments and their lasting impact.
In terms of institutional excellence, the foundation received the Sanabel Award for Social Responsibility in the category of Best Community Initiatives in the field of orphan care in the GCC countries, in recognition of its pioneering role and innovative development programs.
It also strengthened its regional and international presence by signing a cooperation agreement with the Arab Council for Childhood and Development from the Arab Republic of Egypt, and participating in the fourth session of the Riyadh International Humanitarian Conference. This initiative aims to highlight the organisation's pioneering efforts in the field of social responsibility and humanitarian work.
The foundation has steadily progressed in an integrated system of its programs that enable its beneficiaries, achieving qualitative results. In the area of academic empowerment, which included paying tuition fees for 1,087 students, providing educational devices for 87 students, and new university scholarships for 7 students. In addition to providing educational support lessons to 126 students, honoring 22 outstanding students, enrolling 15 students in the IELTS exam, implementing educational courses that benefited 118 students, and supporting 7 children with learning difficulties. In addition to organising school follow-ups for 262 students in 28 schools, the organisation provided free tuition for three students and discounts for three others.
In the area of social empowerment, 298 guardians and 281 children benefited from the social services provided. These services included individual case studies for 238 children and social programs that reached 553 children and 137 guardians.
In addition to psychological support, which included providing psychological services to 89 guardians and 75 children, specialised psychological programs were offered to 76 guardians and 132 children.
Regarding the focus on health empowerment, 50 children and 34 guardians benefited from treatment expenses, medical examinations were provided to 217 children and 175 guardians, in addition to providing free treatment to 67 children and 28 guardians, as well as implementing 4 health workshops presented to 41 children and 18 guardians. In addition to providing eyeglasses for 9 children and 22 guardians.
In the area of environmental empowerment, the foundation provided environmental assistance benefiting 332 families comprising 842 children. Vocational empowerment included practical training for 30 children in four governmental and private entities, and the implementation of five vocational workshops for 86 children and 14 guardians.

As part of the Orphans' Happiness Initiative, the Foundation fulfilled 268 wishes during 2025 within the "Sidra of Wishes" project, bringing the total number of wishes fulfilled to 3,934. In addition, 56 families were gifted with Eid sweets, Eid gifts were given to 303 children, and 5 interactive programs were implemented for 156 children.479 shopping vouchers were awarded, and outstanding students and their families were treated to hotel stays. Furthermore, funding was secured to upgrade the institution's playground, creating a more enjoyable and enriching environment for the orphans.
This harvest of achievements reflects the Foundation’s vision of sustainable and integrated empowerment that addresses the needs of orphaned children and their families in various aspects, as the Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation continues its development journey and strengthens its community partnerships. It adopts more innovative initiatives that reinforce the values of shared responsibility and create a more stable future for affiliated families.
