Sharjah24: The UAE national para-cycling team opened its participation in the Asian Para Road Cycling Championships in Al Qassim, Saudi Arabia, by winning four medals on the first day of competition. Coach Mohammed Al Marri said the results reflect the intensive preparations and efforts leading up to the event.

Abdullah Salem Al Blooshi claimed gold in the MC4 category, while Salama Rashid Al Khateri secured gold in the WC5 category, giving the UAE two gold medals for a strong start.

Saeed Rashid Al Dhaheri earned silver in the MH4 category, and Ahmed Mohammed Al Badwawi added bronze in the MC5 category, confirming the team’s early presence on the medals table.

Results reflect intensive preparations

The results highlight the rising technical level of the national team’s athletes, following intensive preparations for upcoming continental and international competitions as part of the programme.

Coach Mohammed Al Marri said the strong opening continues a series of recent achievements, noting that the performance reflects the team’s spirit and the players’ high level of discipline. He added that the impressive start was the result of continuous work and major efforts by the technical and administrative staff, and that success at the recent West Asia Championship provided strong motivation for further progress and more honourable results.
