Sharjah24: The UAE national para cycling team increased its medal count to four at the Asian Track Championships in Tagaytay, Philippines, securing one gold and one bronze among its total medals.

Cyclist Abdullah Salem Al Blooshi secured the gold medal in the men’s C4 elimination race, finishing ahead of Uzbekistan’s Abror Ibragimov in second place and Indonesia’s Mohammad Fadli Imamuddin in third. This achievement marks his second medal at the Championship, following a silver in the men’s C4 kilometre race.

Bronze for Al Khateri in women’s event

In the women’s competition, Salama Al Khateri secured bronze in the C5 race, finishing behind Uzbekistan’s Jasmina Nurkabilova, who took gold, and India’s Leesha Das, who claimed silver. The result adds to her earlier silver medal in the same category.

Strong performance reflects preparation

Al Blooshi credited his victory to focused preparation, emphasising that elimination races demand precision and tactical awareness. The results underscore the team’s increasing strength and readiness, demonstrating the effectiveness of their training ahead of the Championship.
