Sharjah24: The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) held its annual ceremony to honour strategic partners and outstanding employees, including staff from Expo Centre Sharjah and the Sharjah International Commercial Arbitration Centre (Tahkeem). The event recognised their contributions to the Chamber’s strategic objectives, in line with Sharjah’s future-focused development vision.

The ceremony, held at the Sharjah Old Cars Club, also marked the inauguration of the “Sharjah Chamber Museum,” a landmark that documents the Chamber’s economic impact and milestone achievements. The museum serves as a knowledge platform for researchers, investors and stakeholders in the economic and commercial sectors.

Strong growth in 2025 performance

His Excellency Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI, said the recognition reflects the Chamber’s commitment to operational excellence in serving the business community. He noted that total membership exceeded 76,000 in 2025, marking a 14 per cent year-on-year increase, with more than 8,300 new companies joining and over 67,000 renewals recorded.

He added that the Chamber issued more than 90,000 certificates of origin during the year, supporting member companies’ expansion into global markets and strengthening Sharjah’s position as a leading economic and trade hub.

Expo Centre records landmark year

His Excellency Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah, described 2025 as a landmark year, marked by the launch of the region’s first electric vehicle exhibition, the Evolve Future Mobility Show, and the Middle East Cosmetics Show. He also noted the introduction of the region’s first AI-powered digital twin platform at SteelFab 2026.

The centre hosted 17 major events in the fourth quarter of 2025 alone, a 70 per cent year-on-year increase, and attracted three million visitors across exhibitions by the end of the year.

Honouring employees and media partners

His Excellency Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, SCCI Director-General, said the Chamber’s growth reflects the dedication of its workforce and the efficiency of its service systems. The ceremony honoured outstanding employees across several performance categories, as well as media professionals under the theme “Voice for Media,” recognising their role in highlighting the emirate’s economic activity.

The event also recognised strategic and sponsoring partners, including Sharjah Old Cars Club and several gold, silver and bronze sponsors, in appreciation of their support.
