Sharjah 24: The 23rd Sharjah Heritage Days showcased a comprehensive model focusing on combining cultural and intellectual activities, reinforcing the importance of heritage for remaining relevant in the present and the future.

The event had a large turnout around 390,000 visitors from Sharjah and other cities. Many visitors benefited from the marine transport services that connected the event site. The open squares hosted camel caravans and captivating equestrian shows.

Seven cities and regions were part of the 23rd edition, including Sharjah, Khorfakkan, Kalba, Dibba Al Hisn, Al Dhaid, Al Hamriyah, and Wadi Al Helo.

Promoting knowledge pass-on

The event witnessed the participation of dozens of folk groups with artistic performances and workshops for children, enhancing the transmission of heritage knowledge to new generations.

The event also included hundreds of talented artisans displaying various traditional crafts, alongside exhibitions. governmental and international organizations participated in the festival, highlighting the efforts to preserve heritage. The children's corner also enjoyed remarkable daily attendance, showing the event's success in engaging young people with their heritage.

New initiatives

The event featured several exciting activities, including the launch of the first-ever special postage stamp, a traditional water-pouring competition, and a "Heritage Cinema" screening of classic Arab and European films, reflecting the event's growing international dimension. The cultural café also hosted discussion sessions and book signings, further enriching the intellectual discourse surrounding the activities.

Scientific sessions discussed newly listed Arab heritage sites and encouraged sharing knowledge among cultural organizations in the Arab regarding heritage preservation and documentation. Live demonstrations also allowed visitors to engage with traditional crafts, transforming heritage from abstract ideas into real.

The event garnered extensive Arab and international media coverage, along with millions of views on social media, highlighting its cultural impact. Media delegations and digital influencers attended, boosting its prominence as a platform for intercultural dialogue.
