Sharjah 24: Sheikh Haitham bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Deputy Head of the Sharjah Ruler’s Office in Kalba, witnessed the inauguration of the Heritage Village in the city of Kalba, on Saturday, as part of the Sharjah Heritage Days. The opening, held in Al Hisn, featured the participation of folk groups, productive families, and government entities. Saqr Mohammed, Chairman of the External Openings Committee, confirmed that the festivities will continue for three days, aiming to strengthen the presence of heritage and promote folk culture across the Emirate’s cities.

Sheikh Haitham bin Saqr Al Qasimi officially opened the Heritage Village in Kalba on Saturday, marking the third stop of Sharjah Heritage Days after Sharjah City and Al Hamriyah. The initiative forms part of Sharjah’s heritage tours, designed to enhance the visibility of traditional heritage across its various cities.

Saqr Mohammed explained that Kalba was selected for its distinctive heritage location in Al Hisn area, which encompasses integrated heritage elements reflecting the region’s identity and history. He noted that the Heritage Village includes a range of museums, folk groups, productive families, and the participation of several government bodies, clearly demonstrating community collaboration in ensuring the success of the event.

In statements to “Sharjah 24,” the Chairman of the External Openings Committee said that the festival will continue for three days in Kalba, inviting the public to visit the Heritage Village and enjoy the heritage atmosphere and diverse activities that reflect the authenticity of Emirati society and its cultural values.

Saqr Mohammed added that Sharjah Heritage Days will continue its tour of the central and eastern regions, with events moving to Al Dhaid on Wednesday, followed by Dibba Al Hisn on Thursday, and Khorfakkan on Friday, before concluding in Wadi Al Helo, as part of a plan to bring heritage activities to all areas of the Emirate and reinforce the presence of heritage within the community.
