Sharjah 24: Intisar Moeen Al Obaidli, Curator of the Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilisation (SMIC), announced the launch of the third edition of the “Ramadan Gathering” event, themed “Tales and Gardens.” She emphasised that the event, which will take place from February 26 to March 1 at the museum, aligns with the Sharjah Museums Authority’s commitment to enhancing the museum’s community engagement and solidifying its position as a cultural destination that combines education and entertainment.

Event details and theme

Al Obaidli affirmed that the event offers a comprehensive family experience, combining cultural programmes, interactive activities, and educational programmes within a Ramadan atmosphere that fosters community engagement.

Activities and programmes

Curator of the Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilisation confirmed in an exclusive statement to “Sharjah 24” that the “Ramadan Gathering” programme offers a diverse range of activities, including interactive workshops for children and families, cultural and educational games, theatrical performances, Ramadan competitions, dedicated family seating areas, and a special food corner, providing a comprehensive experience suitable for all age groups.

Temporary exhibition: “Andalusian Cultural Landscapes”

The curator added that the event coincides with guided tours of the current temporary exhibition, “Andalusian Cultural Landscapes,” which features more than 60 historical artworks, including pieces being displayed for the first time in the Emirate of Sharjah. These works embody the agricultural and cultural heritage of Andalusia within a visual narrative that blends the beauty of nature with the depth of the human experience.

Appreciation for supporting entities

Al Obaidli concluded by thanking the participating and supporting entities, praising their efforts in ensuring the success of the event during the holy month of Ramadan and strengthening community partnerships in the cultural activities hosted by the museum.
