Ramadan Al Hamriyah marks Zayed Humanitarian Day initiative

Sharjah24: The “Ramadan Al Hamriyah” initiative, organised by Al Hamriyah Cultural and Sports Club and Al Hamriyah Municipality, commemorated Zayed Humanitarian Day on Sunday, 8 March 2026, which coincides with 19 Ramadan, marking the anniversary of the passing of the UAE’s Founding Father Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

The organising committee launched the “Iftar for Travellers” initiative, providing Ramadan iftar meals to fasting individuals in the Al Hamriyah district.

The event was attended by Sultan Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of Al Hamriyah Club; Dr Sultan Fayez, Advisor for Quality and Excellence; and Ayman Al Omariyin, Executive Director, along with club employees and members of the local community.

Promoting humanitarian values

Sultan Al Shamsi confirmed that the initiative aims to honour Zayed Humanitarian Day, a national event that showcases the humanitarian values established by the late Sheikh Zayed in the realms of giving and charitable work.

He also expressed appreciation to Al Hamriyah Municipality and Al Hamriyah Comprehensive Police Station for their cooperation in ensuring the success of the “Iftar for Travellers” initiative.

Al Shamsi observed that such collaboration embodies the spirit of institutional unity among national entities in honouring national occasions and reinforcing humanitarian values within the community.
