Sharjah 24: Dibba Al Hisn Sports and Cultural Club, in cooperation with Sharjah Charity International and Sharjah Islamic Affairs, held the closing ceremony for its 17th Holy Quran Competition, held under the slogan “Memorise and Recite,” coinciding with Zayed Humanitarian Work Day.

The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Dr Mohammed Ahmed Al-Mutawa, Chairman of Dibba Al-Hisn Sports and Cultural Club, and His Excellency Mohammed Abdullah Al-Tarban, Chairman of Dibba Al-Hisn Football Club, along with several members of the club's board of directors, representatives of cooperating entities, and a number of parents and participants in the competition.

Large turnout

This year's competition witnessed a large turnout from the club's players, staff, and coaches, following the introduction of a new category specifically for club employees, including coaches, staff, and administrators. This initiative aims to strengthen the connection of all club members with the Holy Quran and encourage them to memorise and recite it. The ceremony also included honouring the winners and participants in the Holy Quran competition in recognition of their efforts in memorising and reciting the Book of God, and to encourage younger generations to engage with the Holy Quran and adhere to its noble values.

The ceremony also included honouring the winners of the “Future Muezzin” competition, which aims to discover and encourage young talents in calling the Adhan (call to prayer) and to strengthen their connection to Islamic rituals.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Sheikh Abdulkarim Kamal was honored and awarded the Dibba Al-Hisn Religious Personality Award for 2026 in recognition of his significant efforts in serving religion and society, and his contributions to spreading Islamic values and promoting religious awareness in the city.
