Sharjah24: Dr Majid Ibrahim Al Mazmi, Head of the Commercial Protection Division at the Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD), announced that the department has intensified inspection campaigns across various cities and regions of the Emirate of Sharjah to ensure market stability and compliance with approved regulations.

In statements to Sharjah24, Dr Al Mazmi explained that specialised inspection teams carry out field visits throughout the year to monitor economic practices, ensure compliance with regulations, and track the stability of commodity prices.

He noted that these inspections include several establishments, among them Souq Al Jubail, as part of broader monitoring efforts across markets in the emirate.

Monitoring food and retail establishments

Al Mazmi said the campaigns target food service establishments, retail outlets, and other economic businesses that experience increased consumer demand during peak seasons.

Inspection teams make sure that businesses follow relevant laws and regulations while upholding high standards of service for consumers.

Preventing price manipulation

He added that inspectors closely monitor commodity prices to ensure businesses adhere to approved pricing and do not exploit seasonal increases in demand.

The department increases inspection campaigns ahead of major seasons such as Ramadan and Eid, aiming to maintain market stability and strengthen compliance among economic establishments across Sharjah.
