Sharjah24: In a reflective and reverent atmosphere, the eighth episode of the religious programme Faithful Glimpses, presented by Sheikh Dr. Salem Al-Doubi, Head of the Preaching and Fatwa Department at the Sharjah Department of Islamic Affairs, aired on Sharjah 24. The episode focused on the emotions of believers bidding farewell to Ramadan, warning of the grave loss for those who pass through this sacred month without earning God’s forgiveness and release from Hellfire.
The true reward of Ramadan

Sheikh Al-Doubi began by highlighting the sorrow felt by fasting Muslims as Ramadan ends, stressing that true happiness lies in making the most of this great opportunity and earning divine reward. Conversely, he described the state of those who neglect these precious moments as a clear loss, exclaiming, “What a loss for those who waste these days and moments.”

A prophetic warning

Sheikh Al-Doubi shared a profound hadith illustrating the seriousness of neglecting Ramadan. He recounted an incident when the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) ascended the pulpit and repeatedly said, “Ameen, then Ameen, then Ameen.” This surprised his companions, who were then informed that the Angel Jibreel had told the Prophet: “O Muhammad, whoever reaches Ramadan without receiving forgiveness, may God distance him. Say Ameen.” The Prophet’s affirmation underscored the severity of missing the blessings of this holy month.

Ramadan: A season of forgiveness

The Sheikh emphasised that Ramadan is a time of pardon and liberation from Hellfire. During this month, the gates of Paradise open, the gates of Hell close, and the devils are shackled, making sincere repentance easier. Those who leave Ramadan without forgiveness suffer a loss that cannot be compensated.

Making the most of the last 10 nights

Concluding, Sheikh Al-Doubi urged viewers to make the most of the final days and nights of Ramadan, particularly the last ten nights, during which the Prophet (peace be upon him) exerted extraordinary devotion. He encouraged increased prayer, Quran recitation, seeking forgiveness, and asking for liberation from Hellfire, hoping that God grants all believers His mercy and forgiveness.

Faithful Glimpses airs throughout Ramadan on Sharjah 24, addressing various spiritual and educational topics to nurture religious and ethical values among viewers.
