Sheikh Mohammed meets Ethiopian PM to strengthen ties

Sharjah24/WAM: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, met with Dr Abiy Ahmed Ali, Prime Minister of Ethiopia, during his visit to the UAE. They reviewed bilateral relations and explored ways to boost economic and investment cooperation, as well as expand trade and tourism exchanges to support sustainable development in both nations.

Regional security and solidarity

The leaders discussed regional developments and their impact on security, stability, and development at regional and global levels. Sheikh Mohammed conveyed condolences for the victims of floods and landslides in southern Ethiopia, affirming UAE solidarity.

Support against external threats

Prime Minister Abiy condemned ongoing Iranian attacks targeting the UAE, emphasising Ethiopia’s support for UAE security and territorial integrity. Both leaders stressed the importance of de-escalation and diplomatic efforts to prevent further regional repercussions.
