Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi emphasised the vital role of libraries and cultural institutions in preserving national memory and safeguarding human heritage.
He described libraries as living archives documenting human history and the experiences of societies, as well as centres of knowledge that help strengthen cultural identity and protect heritage across generations.
The Crown Prince highlighted the support and follow-up by Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, for scientific and knowledge initiatives that enhance public awareness and encourage individuals to contribute to the future and the advancement of society.
The session addressed several themes, including the pivotal role of libraries in preserving human memory, as mirrors of civilisations and centres for documenting the lives, historical identity and cultural heritage of peoples.
Discussions also focused on the role of libraries in safeguarding intellectual and cultural production from loss and serving as integrated knowledge platforms that provide access to information for different segments of society.
