CBUAE gold reserves reach record AED43 billion

Sharjah 24 – WAM: The Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates (CBUAE) reported a 13.6 percent rise in gold reserves in January 2026, reaching a new record of AED43.051 billion, up from AED37.902 billion at the end of December 2025, an increase of AED5.149 billion.

Annual growth of gold reserves

On an annual basis, the CBUAE’s gold reserves surged by more than 75 percent over the past year, increasing by approximately AED18.48 billion compared to AED24.571 billion at the end of January 2025.

Deposit statistics

The monthly statistical bulletin also highlighted that demand deposits stood at AED1.255 trillion at the end of January, slightly lower than AED1.264 trillion in December 2025.

Savings deposits increased to AED413.568 billion from AED400.51 billion in the previous month, while time deposits rose to approximately AED1.186 trillion compared to AED1.165 trillion at the end of December 2025.
