The discussions focused on strengthening economic, investment and tourism cooperation, while exploring new partnership opportunities in future economic sectors prioritised by the United Arab Emirates and in European markets.
Bin Touq affirmed that the UAE continues to strengthen its position as a trusted global economic partner through strategic partnerships with international markets, guided by the country’s leadership vision and its open economic model.
He noted that economic relations with Italy and Malta are continuing to grow across sectors, including innovation, technology, tourism, hospitality, advanced industries, clean energy, artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, logistics and real estate.
During his meeting with Adolfo Urso, Italy’s Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, Bin Touq discussed expanding economic and investment cooperation amid the growing partnerships between the two countries.
The meeting highlighted opportunities in advanced industries, innovation, entrepreneurship and support for start-ups, as well as in attracting high-quality investment and exchanging expertise in economic policymaking.
By the end of March 2026, officials noted that nearly 4,900 Italian companies were operating in the UAE.
Bin Touq also met Italy’s Minister of Tourism, Gianmarco Mazzi, to discuss enhancing tourism exchange and connecting destinations via travel and aviation routes.
The talks covered sustainable tourism development, luxury hospitality, tourism innovation, and cooperation in organising tourism events to support tourism flows between the two countries.
During a meeting with Giancarlo Giorgetti, Italy’s Minister of Economy and Finance, Bin Touq reviewed prospects for enhancing financial and investment cooperation.
The discussions focused on fintech, capital market development, financing channels for private-sector growth, and strengthening partnerships between financial and investment institutions in both countries.
Bin Touq also met Attilio Fontana, President of the Lombardy Region, to discuss cooperation across innovation, advanced industries, entrepreneurship, tourism and hospitality.
The two sides explored opportunities to strengthen investment cooperation and economic integration between the business communities of the UAE and Lombardy.
During his meeting with Zachary Borg, Special Envoy of Malta to the Gulf Region, Bin Touq discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and to exchange expertise in the services, innovation, tourism and digital economy sectors.
The meeting also explored opportunities to strengthen private-sector cooperation between the UAE and Malta to support mutual economic interests and to open new avenues for sustainable growth.
