Sinner eased to a 6-2, 6-2 victory at Hard Rock Stadium, taking just 31 minutes to secure the first set before finalising the match in one hour and 11 minutes against the world No. 20.
He said, “I started the match very well and performed excellently in key moments, which definitely helped. I’m very happy with my performance today.”
Sinner, a four-time Grand Slam champion, will face Germany’s Alexander Zverev, ranked fourth, in the semi-finals after Zverev defeated Argentina’s Francisco Cerúndolo 6-1, 6-2.
In the other semi-final, France’s Arthur Fils will face Czech player Jiří Lehečka. Meanwhile, Belarusian world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka will compete against American Coco Gauff in the women’s final.
