Sharjah24 - AFP: Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed a bill on Monday to rename Palm Beach International Airport as “President Donald J. Trump International Airport.”
The name change still requires administrative steps, including updates by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), as well as the completion of rights agreements. The FAA clarified in a statement that airport naming is a local matter and does not require its approval, but noted it must carry out tasks such as updating navigational charts and databases.
The airport is located two miles from Mar-a-Lago, owned by Donald Trump.
Since returning to the White House in January 2025, Trump has sought to leave his mark on public institutions, including adding his name to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington.
