Supporting sports institutions
Speaking exclusively to Sharjah 24, Abdullah Saleh Al Naqbi confirmed that the aim of these gatherings is to enhance competition among players, raise their technical level, and develop goalball, in addition to instilling confidence in the players, which will positively impact their performance and athletic level.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Khorfakkan Club for the Disabled pointed out that these events reflect the government and wise leadership's interest in supporting sports institutions and elevating various sports, especially goalball, as well as their commitment to supporting the visually impaired and enabling their active participation in various sporting activities.
A practical test
Al Naqbi explained that these gatherings represent a practical test of the players' physical fitness and training level. They also provide coaches with an opportunity to evaluate the level of training in clubs and measure the participants' readiness. He noted that this stage is considered preparatory and developmental, while the competitions for prizes and rankings will take place during the fifth gathering after the completion of the first four.
Abdullah Saleh Al Naqbi concluded his remarks by emphasising that these gatherings pave the way for determining the first, second and third place winners at the end of the series, which contributes to enhancing the presence and development of goalball at the national level.
