The Righteous Son Endowment is one of the newly established endowments with an educational focus. Its proceeds are allocated to educational, moral, and behavioural programmes and initiatives that aim to raise righteous, dutiful, and beneficial children who contribute to their community, thereby strengthening family stability and social cohesion. This includes supporting gifted but struggling students, sponsoring competitions for memorising the Holy Quran and the Prophet's Sunnah, and providing educational, behavioural, and developmental rehabilitation for the children of inmates, thereby contributing to their psychological and social stability and preventing delinquency. The endowment also focuses on fostering values of piety, responsibility, and discipline among children and youth through accredited institutional programmes, without providing direct cash assistance to individuals, thereby achieving a sustainable educational impact.
Similarly, the Decent Living Endowment Bank is dedicated to supporting vulnerable members of society by addressing their basic living needs indirectly, thereby preserving privacy and human dignity. This is achieved by paying utility bills, providing food vouchers, supporting during emergencies and crises, and offering living assistance through accredited organisations, without providing direct cash aid. This contributes to strengthening family stability and mitigating the severity of temporary financial crises.
His Excellency Talib Al Marri, Director General of the Department of Endowments, said that the launch of these two endowments embodies the department’s direction towards expanding the fields of charitable endowment to include several endowment banks and creating quality initiatives that provide innovative developmental solutions that respond to community needs. He noted that this step reflects the role of endowment in investing in people, supporting family stability, and promoting social solidarity in sustainable institutional ways, which contributes to achieving a sustainable developmental impact and strengthening the charitable endowment system.
