The campaign aims to broaden the concept of Waqf to include all segments of society, reflecting the department’s belief that Waqf is a collective societal responsibility, not limited to any specific group or sector. The initiative encourages individuals and institutions to contribute according to their capabilities through four main forms. These include ideas, by transforming proposals and suggestions into innovative Waqf projects; knowledge, by sharing expertise and learning as a form of Waqf that benefits others; time, by volunteering a portion of one’s schedule for community service; and money, by allocating financial resources to support Waqf projects. Together, these avenues enable everyone to leave a meaningful and lasting impact on society.
These diverse avenues enable everyone to make a positive impact on society in meaningful ways.
The campaign provides clear participation mechanisms. Interested individuals can register via a dedicated link on the department’s website using their digital ID, select the type of contribution, complete a simple form outlining their participation, and then receive an electronic certificate.
His Excellency Talib Al Marri, Director General of the Department of Awqaf, stated that the campaign reflects the department’s vision of establishing Waqf as a lifestyle and a sustainable community practice, promoting a culture of giving and charitable work. It also creates opportunities for all members of society to participate actively and leave a positive mark in the areas of charity and social contribution.
He added: “We believe that every useful idea, every shared piece of knowledge, and every dirham dedicated to Waqf can have a lasting impact across generations. This supports the comprehensive development of Waqf, enhances its developmental and humanitarian role, reflects the noble values upon which our society is built, and confirms Waqf’s position as a fundamental pillar of social solidarity and sustainable development.”
