Terror cell dismantled over destabilisation plot

Sharjah 24 – WAM: The State Security Department announced the dismantling of a terrorist organisation and the arrest of its members for involvement in covert activities aimed at undermining national unity and destabilising the country through planned terrorist and sabotage operations. Investigations revealed links between the group and the Wilayat al-Faqih (Guardianship of the Islamic Jurist) in Iran.

Extremist ideology and recruitment activities uncovered

Authorities found that members adopted extremist ideologies threatening internal security and carried out recruitment and indoctrination through secret meetings, coordinated with external entities, with the aim of infiltrating sensitive positions.

Secret meetings and foreign connections identified

Further investigations showed that members held clandestine meetings inside and outside the country with suspicious organisations, seeking to spread misleading ideas among Emirati youth, recruit them to serve foreign interests, incite against state policies, and damage the country’s image. They also collected funds illegally and transferred them abroad.

Charges include harming national unity and security

The suspects face charges including establishing and operating a secret organisation, pledging allegiance to foreign entities, and harming national unity and social stability.

Authorities reaffirm commitment to security

The State Security Department stressed its ongoing commitment to confronting threats to public safety and urged citizens and residents to report suspicious activities through official channels to support national security and stability.
