The 24th round of the ADNOC Pro League football competition begins on Tuesday and will be played over two days. It includes a significant match for league leaders Al Ain, who will visit Sharjah at their home ground on Wednesday, the second day of the round. Al Ain hopes to secure a win and clinch the title with two rounds remaining.
Al Ain, currently leading the standings with 59 points, needs only a victory against Sharjah to guarantee the title, regardless of their results in rounds 25 and 26, even if Shabab Al Ahli, their closest rival with 53 points, wins all three of their remaining matches.
Al Ain holds the advantage in this scenario, having defeated Shabab Al Ahli both home and away this season.
The round also features a top-of-the-table clash between Al Wahda, currently fifth with 39 points, and Al Wasl, fourth with the same number of points, at Al Nahyan Stadium on Wednesday. Both teams are looking to improve their standings and secure a spot in next season's Asian Champions League.
In the remaining matches of the round, Ajman will face Al Jazira at Rashid Bin Saeed Stadium, Bani Yas will play Al Dhafra at Bani Yas Stadium, Dibba will meet Al Bataeh at Dibba Stadium, and Kalba will take on Khorfakkan at Kalba Stadium on Tuesday.
