Sharjah24: Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), received two messages of solidarity from Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and from Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of Bahrain’s Shura Council.

In their messages, the two Bahraini officials strongly condemned the terrorist drone attack on the vicinity of the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in the Al Dhafra Region. They described the act as a flagrant violation of international law and conventions protecting civilian and vital facilities, and as a clear breach of UN Security Council Resolution 2817.

They reaffirmed the full solidarity and support of Bahrain’s Council of Representatives and Shura Council for the UAE in confronting any threats to its security, stability, territorial integrity, and vital facilities. They also praised the efficiency and readiness of Abu Dhabi’s competent authorities and air defence systems in responding to the attack and preventing injuries or any impact on radiation safety levels.

The messages further affirmed the UAE’s right to take all necessary measures to protect its sovereignty, security, and the safety of citizens and residents, in accordance with international law and conventions. They also highlighted the deep-rooted fraternal relations between the UAE and Bahrain under the leadership of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

The two officials concluded by praying for the continued security, stability, and prosperity of the UAE and its people.
