During the visit, he met with branch employees as part of the regular meeting aimed at reviewing workflow, identifying the branch’s needs, and providing moral support to work teams. The meeting was attended by Saleh Mohammed Al Ghamri, Director of the institute’s Kalba branch, along with several staff members.
The visit included discussions on several files related to heritage projects in the region, which are being implemented in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
New work teams were formed for future projects, while plans related to the Kalba Heritage Museum were also reviewed, reflecting the institute’s direction towards developing heritage work through modern approaches that preserve the authenticity of the place and its cultural identity.
The discussions also highlighted the importance of field visits to heritage projects and sites, and their role in strengthening direct follow-up, improving performance, and supporting efforts to preserve cultural heritage and connect it to younger generations through practical and sustainable methods.
Dr Abdulaziz Al Musallam stressed that field visits represent an essential part of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage’s working approach, as they allow direct follow-up of heritage projects and programmes, while helping identify their needs and continuously develop them.
He said: “We are keen to strengthen teamwork spirit and build a supportive professional environment that contributes to the development of cultural and heritage projects, in line with the institute’s goals and mission to preserve heritage and strengthen its presence within society.”
He added that the Kalba branch represents an important station within the institute’s work system due to the city’s rich cultural and historical significance, stressing the importance of continuing efforts to develop heritage initiatives and projects, enhance their presence among different segments of society, and connect them to younger generations through innovative and sustainable approaches.
For his part, Saleh Mohammed Al Ghamri, Director of the institute’s Kalba branch, expressed his appreciation for the Chairman’s visit, noting that it reflects the administration’s commitment to direct communication with branch employees and to closely following heritage and cultural projects in the field, which contributes to improving work and enhancing the quality of initiatives and programmes.
Al Ghamri said the visit serves as a moral boost for the work team to continue efforts aimed at developing cultural and heritage projects and strengthening Kalba’s presence on the heritage and culture map through specialised initiatives that contribute to preserving and showcasing cultural heritage in line with society’s aspirations.
The visit comes as part of a series of field tours and follow-up visits conducted by the Sharjah Institute for Heritage (SIH) across its various branches and sites to support heritage and cultural work and enhance the efficiency of projects and initiatives related to preserving cultural heritage for future generations.
