Sharjah24-WAM: Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi, Speaker of the Arab Parliament, strongly condemned the drone attack on the United Arab Emirates that caused a fire near the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Al Yamahi stressed that targeting vital and civilian facilities constitutes a flagrant violation of international law and a dangerous escalation that threatens regional security and stability.

He added that the attack is an unacceptable violation of the UAE's sovereignty and a direct threat to its security, territorial integrity and strategic infrastructure.

Full solidarity with UAE

Al Yamahi reaffirmed the Arab Parliament’s full solidarity with the UAE and its complete support for all measures to safeguard the country’s security and protect its critical infrastructure.

He also reiterated the parliament’s firm rejection of all forms of terrorist attacks on the security and stability of Arab nations.

Call for international action

The Speaker of the Arab Parliament emphasised that the UAE's security is integral to Arab national security.

He called on the international community to adopt an immediate and firm position against hostile acts that threaten regional peace and security, violate international law, and breach the United Nations Charter.
