Sharjah 24: Sharjah Women's Sports Clubs (SWSC) concluded their participation in the preliminary round of the 2026 Women's Volleyball League with two well-deserved victories. Both Sharjah Women's Sports Club and Khorfakkan Women's Sports Club secured wins at the end of the second leg, demonstrating their readiness to advance to the knockout stage (quarter-finals).

Sharjah Women's Sports Club achieved a clean sweep against Lynx with a score of 3-0 in the match held on Saturday, March 29, 2026, at the club's hall. The team asserted its dominance from the outset through well-organised reception, diverse attacking options, and a high level of control over the tempo of the game, enabling them to win the sets without difficulty.

Solidifying the technical aspect

In this context, Karim Ben Ayad, coach of Sharjah Women's Sports Club, affirmed that "the match provided an opportunity to solidify the technical aspects the team has been working on during the previous phase, particularly in the quality of reception and the quick transition from defense to attack." He noted that "the team demonstrated good tactical discipline and the ability to minimise errors, which is crucial as we enter the knockout stage." He added that "preparations for the upcoming period focus on enhancing mental readiness and strengthening performance consistency, given the different nature of knockout matches."

Showcasing technical readiness and playing style

Meanwhile, Khorfakkan Women's Sports Club continued its positive run, defeating Centrex Falcon Academy 3-0 in a match held on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at the Khorfakkan Club hall. The team delivered a balanced performance that reflected its technical readiness and successfully imposed its playing style through a stable backcourt and effective serving.

For her part, Buthaina bint Mansour, coach of Khorfakkan Women's Sports Club, explained that "the team managed the match well, especially in terms of organising the defence and capitalising on rebounds," noting that "the focus was on maintaining the team's technical rhythm and minimising gaps during the sets." She added that "the next stage requires a different level of preparedness, as we will work on increasing our focus on the smallest details and enhancing on-field cohesion to meet the demands of knockout matches."

Reflecting accumulated technical work and continuous investment in developing collective performance

These results are a continuation of the rising competitive presence of the Foundation's clubs in the league, reflecting accumulated technical work and continuous investment in developing collective performance. This presents both teams with a new test in the knockout stages, as they are scheduled to meet in the quarterfinals in a direct encounter that will determine the next phase.

This stage underscores the importance of maintaining technical and mental stability, given the non-negotiable nature of the competition, which enhances the overall readiness of both teams as the decisive stages approach.
