Al Qasimia University organises 'Public Safety Day' exhibition

During the event
Sharjah 24: The Deanship of Student Affairs at Al Qasimia University organised an exhibition, titled “Public Safety Day” in cooperation with the Sharjah Police represented by its various departments, as well as the Sharjah Civil Defence Authority.
The activities of the exhibition were attended by His Excellency the Chancellor of Al Qasimia University, Prof. Dr. Awad Al Khalaf, along top officials from the univeristy, where the students were introduced to the departments of the Sharjah Police, drugs prevention and their harmful effects on young people.

The exhibition also aims to raise the level of societal awareness and the sense of security among students, and introducing them to the dangers that they may face in the event of cyber blackmail, and urging them to take caution when dealing with strangers or unidentified people through technology. 

They also learned about traffic laws and the latest technologies used by police. In addition, they learned how to extinguish fires, security methods inside closed places, and how to evacuate in the event of a fire.

The students attended a live demonstration of the k9 security inspection department for police dogs, how to identify the perpetrators of crimes, the inspection inside the land and air ports, and the identification of materials that are prohibited from entering the United Arab Emirates.

His Excellency Chancellor of Al Qasimia University emphasised the importance of the exhibition and the variety of awareness programmes it presents with the aim of introducing students to security and safety requirements in various fields.

His Excellency thanked the various departments of the Sharjah Police for their vital role in raising awareness of students with regard to the dangers of drugs and related laws, in addition to how to deal with fraud.
