4th West Asia Para Games concludes

Sharjah 24: Dr. Abdulrazzaq Bani Rashid, President of the West Asia Para Federation, stated, on Friday, that the 4th West Asia Para Games concluded its activities, which was hosted in Sharjah under the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

This came amid wide participation of more than 500 athletes representing 12 countries, where Iraq won the title of the 4th West Asia Games, winning 36 gold, 25 silver, and 8 bronze medals. 

The UAE came in second place with 25 gold, 23 silver, and 25 bronze, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia came third with 17 gold, 23 silver, and 11 bronze.

Dr. Tariq Sultan bin Khadem, Chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee of 4th West Asia Para Games - Sharjah 2024, conveyed his gratitude and appreciation. The individual expressed gratitude towards His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for generously supporting this important sports event and consistently advocating for various causes concerning individuals with disabilities in different areas.

In exclusive statements to “Sharjah 24,” Dr. Abdulrazzaq Bani Rashid, President of the West Asia Para Federation, said that the curtain came down on the fourth edition of the West Asia Para Games, which was generously supported by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

He added the next edition was handed over to Oman, which will host the West Asia Games Muscat 2026, extending his thanks and appreciation to the organising committee and all the contributors to the success of this important sporting event.
