Sharjah 24: Al Hamriyah Cultural Sports Club and Sharjah Self-Defencee Sports Club are organising "Al Hamriyah Beach Challenge" sports event, under the patronage of Sharjah Sports Council (SSC), on October 25-26, on the beaches of Al Hamriyah.
The event includes four sports, namely, Jiu-Jitsu, kayaking, tug-of-war challenge, and Ironman challenge.
The organising committee invited athletes from different clubs and teams to participate in the challenge, enjoy the event and compete for first place and prizes.
Humaid Hassan Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Hamriyah Cultural Sports Club, said that the club is happy to organise "Al Hamriyah Beach Challenge", in cooperation with the Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club, especially after the success of the Sharjah Jiu-Jitsu Cup Championship hosted by the club at the end of last August.
Al Shamsi confirmed that Al Hamriyah Club, in cooperation with Sharjah Self-Defence Sports club, aims through "Al Hamriyah Beach Challenge" to encourage community participation in sports events and discover new sports talents that can join sports clubs in the future.
In turn, Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al Owais, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club, described “Al Hamriyah Beach Challenge” as an opportunity to promote community sports for its role in attracting families to practice sports or follow competitions, which is an opportunity to discover new players and promote the culture of practicing sports.
The challenge is also an opportunity for sports interaction and to learn about the technical capabilities of players, and an opportunity to prepare for upcoming tournaments, especially Jiu-Jitsu, indicating that the organising committee emanating from the two clubs is keen to ensure that the sporting event comes out in the best possible way.
