Sharjah24: In response to the directives of His Highness President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to extend humanitarian aid to those affected by the ongoing events in Lebanon, Sharjah has commenced the operational procedures to support the "UAE stands with Lebanon" campaign. Launched on October 8 and running until the 19th of the same month, the campaign has garnered the participation of numerous charitable organizations within the country to facilitate the collection of relief packages for the affected individuals.
Sharjah Charity International (SCI) is inviting volunteers to assist in assembling relief packages scheduled for distribution on Saturday, October 19, at Expo Centre Sharjah. Those interested in participating can register via the Sharjah Volunteer Centre platform at sssd-volunteer.shj.ae and the website www.volunteers.ae, aiming to contribute to the campaign's objectives of providing essential relief packages to women and children impacted by the disaster and meeting their food and medical requirements to bolster their resilience in overcoming the challenges they face.

While encouraging community members to support the UAE's philanthropic initiative, SCI anticipates the active involvement of volunteers in preparing aid packages as a manifestation of the UAE and its people's solidarity with the Lebanese population during various situations and crises.

Abdullah Sultan bin Khadem, the Executive Director of SCI, emphasized the mobilization of humanitarian efforts to respond to the call for aid in Lebanon within the framework of providing thousands of relief packages from the Emirate of Sharjah and its various cities to those affected by the crisis. This endeavor entails collaboration with government and private sector partners as well as other institutions to realize the campaign's objectives through the involvement of diverse humanitarian entities and individuals. This initiative aligns with the UAE's established values, as envisioned by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and underscores the nation's unwavering support for affected populations during such crises. Bin Khadem stressed the commitment to supporting affected communities in line with the principles and values of the UAE, urging all members of society to extend their support to the Republic of Lebanon through the ongoing campaign, with official mobilization of the aid packages scheduled to take place through volunteers at the Expo Center next Saturday morning.
