The theme was "Cosmic Cooperation Under the Sharjah Astronomical Dome," attracting researchers and academics to explore advancements in space and astronomy. Notable guests included H.E. Prof. Esameldin Agamy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, and Her Excellency Sybille Pfaff, Consul General of Germany in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
The sessions at SAASST began with a specialized scientific discussion on space and astronomy, led by Dr. Lina Maria Müller and Prof. Mohammad Al-Wuhaib, both alumni of AGYA. Professor Mashhoor Al-Wardat from the University of Sharjah presented a critical review of heliocentrism’s observational foundations and Copernicus’s evidence. This was followed by Prof. Hans Christian von Herrmann of the Technical University of Berlin, who explored experiencing the cosmos inside a planetarium dome.
The program also featured the unveiling of the Ionospheric Butterfly, an interactive artwork created in collaboration with AGYA, which visualizes real-time space weather data through shifting colors and lights. Attendees then participated in "Journey Through the Universe" inside the Sharjah Planetarium, a narrated experience blending scientific insights with storytelling about stars, asteroids, and sky legends.
The conference concluded with awards for the winners of the student competition "Next-Generation Innovators" and recognition for organizers. The evening wrapped up with a stargazing session, fostering a cultural and scientific appreciation of the universe.
