Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Border and Ports Organizing Committee hosted a national celebration at the Khatmat Malaha border crossing to commemorate Oman's 55th National Day. The event attracted high-ranking officials from both the United Arab Emirates and the Sultanate of Oman.

Notable attendees included Mohammed Ibrahim Al Raisi, Director of Border and Ports Affairs; Brigadier Abdulaziz Sarhan Al Zaabi, Director of Land Ports at the General Directorate of Ports; Colonel Matar bin Hamad Al Makhmari, representative of the Commander of the North Al Batinah Governorate Police in Oman; Dr Ahmed Al Mazrouei, Director of Kalba Municipality; Colonel Matar Al Ketbi, Director of the Ports and Airports Police Department in Sharjah; along with several other officials, officers, and esteemed guests from both nations.

The event commenced with a military band from the Sharjah Police Sciences Academy performing the national anthems of Oman and the United Arab Emirates, followed by verses from the Holy Quran. A speech delivered by the Organizing Committee for Ports and Border Points underscored the historical depth of UAE-Oman relations, tracing back to the era of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sultan Qaboos, may their souls rest in peace, up to the current leadership of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman.

During the ceremony, a video presentation highlighting the milestones in Emirati-Omani relations was shown. The Al Mazoud War Band engaged the audience with traditional national dances, and several poets recited works that reflected the love and loyalty shared between the two nations. Additionally, artist Taif Al Qaidi delivered a sand art performance depicting a portrait of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and Sultan Haitham.

On behalf of the organizing committee, Mohammed Ibrahim Al Raisi presented a symbolic gift to the Omani delegation: a copy of the latest work by His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, titled "Encyclopedia of the History of Oman – Sultan of Historicities," acknowledging the historical ties between the two countries.

In conjunction with this national event, commemorative gifts were distributed to travelers arriving through the Khatmat Malaha border crossing, as well as the Dibba Al Hisn East and West crossings, and the Al Madam border point. The occasion fostered a festive atmosphere along the roadway leading to the Khatmat Malaha border crossing, adorned with flags of the United Arab Emirates and the Sultanate of Oman, symbolizing the deep-rooted brotherly relations between the two nations. Furthermore, the crossing facilities were embellished with digital screens and illuminated panels displaying congratulatory messages for Omani National Day and images of the leadership of both countries, contributing to a vibrant celebratory ambiance and a resounding message of goodwill to all crossing through the border point.
