The event will take place at the exclusive Mleiha Panoramic Lounge, providing an exceptional view in the peaceful desert.
With minimal moonlight expected, Mleiha’s low-light desert setting is positioned to provide ideal conditions for meteor viewing, with up to 100 meteors per hour forecasted at peak times. Equipped with advanced high-resolution computerised telescopes, guests can observe planets and deep-sky objects with exceptional clarity.
Running from 6 pm to 1 am for standard ticket holders — and extending through dawn for overnight guests — the event includes guided stargazing, telescope observations of Saturn and Jupiter, an expert talk on the Geminids, a buffet dinner under the stars, and interactive astronomy quizzes with prizes.
Omar Al Ali, Manager of Mleiha & Strategic Projects, said: "Geminids is the ultimate night for skywatchers, offering bright, slow meteors. With this year’s minimal moonlight and our uniquely dark desert skies, guests can witness breathtaking celestial views even with the naked eye.”
The evening begins with Saturn observations at 6:15 pm, followed by an astronomy presentation, dinner, Jupiter viewing, and dedicated meteor-watching from 9:30 pm until 1:00 am. Overnight guests may continue stargazing until dawn and enjoy a continental breakfast at 7:00 am.
Two ticket options are available: Standard Experience (6 pm–1 am) costing AED 290 for adults and AED 230 for children, and Overnight Camping Experience (6 pm–8 am with breakfast) costing AED 590 for adults and AED 460 for children. Children under 5 attend free; those aged 5–10 qualify for child rates.
Mleiha also offers year-round stargazing programmes, including mobile astronomy sessions for schools, private groups, and partners across the region.
