Sharjah24: Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah has concluded its community initiative “Our Special Thursday," an eight-week programme held every Thursday that gathered members and their families in an interactive setting that combined enjoyment with cultural enrichment. The initiative strengthened ties between the centre and the community while offering meaningful experiences for people of all ages.

The programme featured live musical performances by members of the Quarter of a Century Music Centre, part of the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators. These performances showcased the girls’ talents and encouraged creative appreciation among audiences of all ages.
The initiative also included film screenings in collaboration with FUNN – the Sharjah-based media arts organisation – adding an artistic element that enriched the cultural experience for participants.

Workshops and theatrical performances to cultivate talent

A wide range of cultural and artistic activities was offered, including dialogue sessions, musical evenings, and cinematic showcases. Theatre performances by members of the Quarter of a Century Centre for Theatre and Performing Arts were also featured, along with presentations of results from various workshops and training programmes.
The initiative aimed to boost creative awareness among girls, support the discovery of their talents, and provide opportunities to develop and showcase their abilities.

Family-centred interactive workshops

The programme concentrated heavily on joint activities involving members and their mothers. These included flower arranging, cake-decorating contests, and hand-knitting sessions. The workshops aimed to strengthen social bonds, enhance a sense of belonging, and reinforce relationships between families and Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah.

Promoting cultural awareness in a safe learning environment

Over its eight weeks, “Khamisna Ghir” fostered cultural and artistic awareness within a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment that promoted dialogue and creative expression. The initiative provided a comprehensive educational and recreational experience customised to the interests of family members of all ages.

Collaboration ensures success of the initiative

Sajaya emphasised that the programme's success was due to the support and collaboration of several local institutions in Sharjah, guided by a vision that promotes shared values of cooperation, mutual appreciation, and community engagement.
