Sharjah24: Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah, affiliated with the Rubu’ Qarn for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators, continues to deliver its daily programmes and workshops throughout the holy month of Ramadan as part of its seven developmental tracks, designed to strengthen members’ skills and refine their abilities across diverse fields. The activities take place in a spiritual atmosphere that reflects the essence and values of the month.
Registration is open to all girls aged 13 to 18 through Sajaya’s social media platforms (@sajaya_shj).

Artistic and cultural workshops

The programme features a rich selection of creative and artistic workshops, including decorating Ramadan lanterns, drawing and painting, sculpture and ceramics, and photography. It also offers heritage-themed photography tours across the city of Sharjah, helping participants develop their artistic sense while strengthening their cultural identity.

Sports activities to promote wellbeing

Sport receives special focus, with activities such as swimming, basketball, volleyball, billiards and horse riding, all aimed at improving physical fitness and encouraging teamwork.

Ramadan kitchen and Emirati home experiences

In keeping with the Ramadan spirit, Sajaya presents the “Ramadan Kitchen” programme, which introduces members to the basics of cooking and preparing traditional Ramadan dishes through practical, interactive sessions. The initiative emphasises collaboration, creativity and the productive use of time within a positive and inspiring environment.

Sajaya also launches the “Emirati Home” programme, which connects girls to their cultural heritage through a traditional Emirati group iftar. The event highlights heritage crafts and sports, offering participants an authentic glimpse into the past. Through this initiative, Sajaya seeks to empower girls to explore the history of the UAE, contribute to its preservation for future generations, and strengthen values such as national identity, belonging, tolerance, coexistence, generosity, hospitality, modesty and sustainability.

Strengthening community bonds

Inspired by the month’s values of giving, compassion and intergenerational solidarity, Sajaya will organise a visit to an elderly care home as part of the “Our Seniors, Our Support” workshop. The visit offers meaningful moments of connection through shared stories and memories, fostering a sense of social responsibility among participants.

‘Athar’ campaign showcases girls’ talents

As part of its efforts to highlight the outcomes of its artistic programmes, Sajaya is launching “Athar”, a Ramadan arts campaign that celebrates girls’ creativity by displaying their work in public spaces. The interactive community initiative targets the wider local community in Sharjah and encourages active participation from girls aged 13–18.

The campaign aims to spotlight members’ artistic achievements, motivate teamwork, and reinforce the values of cooperation, giving and community service. It also engages parents by inviting them to view their daughters’ work and strengthens partnerships with local entities across Sharjah, broadening the impact of both artistic and community initiatives.
