Sharjah 24: Mleiha Cultural and Sports Club organised an advanced workshop titled Developing Motivation and Communication Skills with Athletes, as part of its plan to enhance technical and administrative standards within the sports system. The workshop aimed to strengthen coaches’ and administrators’ abilities in line with modern psychological and behavioural developments in sport.

Content of the workshop

Held in collaboration with Tamkeen Training Centre, the session was delivered by Dr Mohammed Yehya, who presented methods of individual and team motivation, mechanisms for effective coach–player communication, and the importance of body language and dialogue management in building trust and boosting team morale. The workshop also addressed coping with competitive pressure, understanding athletes’ psychological needs, and applying practical techniques to improve performance in training environments.

Reactions and outcomes

Dr Yehya praised the strong engagement shown by coaches and administrators, noting that their positive interaction reflects a genuine desire to develop their skills and enhance team performance. He added that the workshop provides an important opportunity to equip staff with scientific tools that support stronger relationships with athletes and lead to better results.
