Al Dhaid Club concludes Junior Rapid Chess Talent Championship

Sharjah 24: Al Dhaid Sports Club has concluded the Sharjah Junior Rapid Chess Talent Championship, which it organised with the participation of Mleiha Club and Al Bataeh Club, in a distinctly competitive atmosphere that enhanced the excellence of young players.

The championship witnessed strong competition among participants, reflecting advanced technical levels and a high sporting spirit. The closing ceremony was attended by Salem Mohammed bin Huwaiden Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Board; Rashid Abdullah bin Huwaiden Al Ketbi, Secretary-General of Al Dhaid Club; Muhair Obaid Al Khayal Al Tunaiji, Executive Director of Al Dhaid Club; and Dr Huwaiden Mohammed bin Huwaiden Al Ketbi.

Winners and top performers

In terms of results, the outstanding player Aisha Rashid Abdullah bin Huwaiden Al Ketbi secured the silver medal (second place), while the distinguished player Layan Musab Al Agha claimed the bronze medal (third place). Noura Abdullah Al Ketbi, Raghad Khalid Al Marshadi, Tareq Musab Al Agha, and Mohammed Alaa El Din also finished among the top ten.

Honouring winners and recognising efforts

At the conclusion, the winners were honoured by Salem Mohammed bin Huwaiden Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Board, and Muhair Obaid Al Khayal Al Tunaiji, Executive Director of the club.

Salem Mohammed bin Huwaiden Al Ketbi praised the success of the championship and the level of participation, commending the efforts of the organisers, foremost among them international coach Abdul Qader Rais, along with coach Mada Haj Yousif, team administrator Salem Rashid Al Ketbi, and the refereeing team. He also extended his congratulations to the winners, emphasising the importance of continuing to organise such events, which contribute to discovering and nurturing talent.

Promoting chess culture among youth

For his part, Rashid Abdullah bin Huwaiden Al Ketbi, Secretary-General, affirmed that the championship forms part of the club’s efforts to promote chess culture and enhance players’ skills, noting the ongoing interest in the game and its role in developing young people’s mental abilities.
